Monarch Class

This term Monarch Class have been learning about tropical rainforests. We have enjoyed learning about different animals that live in the rainforest, how people live in the rainforest and what we can do to save rainforests including looking at the threats they face. We have made miniature rainforests in a box, explored different mediums to make 3D animals and tribe’s people and have really enjoyed our papier mache globe project. We have also enjoyed our trips out into the community. Our favourite trip was going to Chessington Garden Centre to look at different animals that we might see in the rainforest such as snakes and lizards. Our physical activity this term has been tennis and basketball at the local courts. In cooking we have been working on our independence in the life skills room, preparing snacks and light meals for ourselves such as omelettes. We have celebrated two birthdays already this term. We are looking forward to our next topic which will be ‘A Christmas Carol’.
